WATERFRONT 2008 - NEW DATE, NEW LOCATION
The City of Saskatoon’s River Landing development is where we hope to present Waterfront 2008. We have a tentative booking with the City (which should be finalized in January) for Spadina Crescent East from the Victoria Bridge to 2nd Avenue. The River Landing project on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River has created a beautiful site that connects the riverbank to south downtown.
We are also changing the date for Waterfront from August to Saturday, June 14 (a week before Bazaart) so that the market fits in better with buying opportunities such as wedding and graduation gifts. If all goes as planned, Waterfront 2008 will present an excellent new marketing opportunity for SCC members. More information will be available early in January. Contact Chris Jones for information at 653.3616 ext. 24 or scc.memberservices@sasktel.net

Charley Farrero was in China with nine other Canadian ceramic artists who traveled to Xi’an, China, to participate in the Sino-Canada Ceramic Art Exchange Program, a one-month artist’s residency at the Fuping Pottery Village. For the month of October they were charged with creating work for the new Canadian Ceramic Museum, which is being built for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Charley realized that we do not know what is happening in ceramics in the other parts of Canada. We do not have a national ceramic magazine nor do we have a national ceramic association. Charley has created a new web site (www.ceramcanada.ca) for information about Canadian ceramic activities. The site includes exhibition info, education activities (workshops, symposia and all), ceramic associations activities, links and more. Activities will be posted until the end of the activity.
Please send all information to info@ceramcanada.ca. Images and text will be edited as needed. (no large images files and no critical reviews of exhibitions).
