Midnight Art
They won’t be rolling up the sidewalks at dusk on June 20. To celebrate the longest day of the year, Saskatoon Art Galleries will be staying open till midnight. Get out and visit your favourite galleries, or ones that you’ve been meaning to visit.
EYES ON CRAFT: What’s blue, brown, green, hazel, and sometimes even red? Soon, it will be the front of the SCC Gallery. To help celebrate the Broadway Art Encounter, the SCC will be holding an “EYES ON CRAFT” event on Saturday, June 7. We will be inviting shoppers on Broadway Avenue to paint a pair of eyes on the front of the Craft Council Building. Come on down and help give us an eyeful. The event will run from 10 am till 4 pm.
FACADE IMPROVEMENTS: We’re raising money to renovate and restore the facade of 813 Broadway Avenue. In the meantime, it badly needs painting. This job will be done very soon after the “Eyes on Craft” event.
Upstairs Gallery: In September, the SCC will receive a new neighbour. The Broadway Business Improvement District has leased the third floor of the SCC Building. So....If you’ve always wanted to hold your own exhibition in the Upstairs Gallery, move quickly. There’s only three months left.
Online Auction
Al Bakke has generously donated a metal bowl for the SCC online auction. This auction will be ongoing and funds raised will go towards improvements of the SCC building facade -- matching a City of Saskatoon grant. You can view the auction piece on the SCC website home page. www.saskcraftcouncil.org or upclose and personal in the SCC Gallery. The auction is underway and will close on Friday, June 20 at 5pm. If you have any inquiries or would be interested in donating your work, please contact Gale at 653.3616 ext. 23 or scc.editor@sasktel.net
