Staff Change
People calling into to the Craft Council or dropping by the Gallery will notice a new voice and face behind the reception desk for the next few months.
That’s right – Donna is off to Mexico again. (Admit it – you are jealous).
We are very fortunate to have Amanda Boziak fill in while Donna is away. Some of you will have already met Amanda – she worked for the SCC this summer as part of a SaskCulture summer employment program. She’s smart, hardworking, enthusiastic – and loves Fine Craft. What more can we say.
Fine Craft Auction -- Be there or be square!
The Fine Craft Auctions are being held in Saskatoon (Feb 7) and Regina (Feb 21). You can get your tickets by calling Amanda (653.3616 (ext. 0), e-mailing to saskcraftcouncil@sasktel.net or dropping by the gallery. Delivery Instructions for those participating will be mailed early next week.
Our partners this year are:
In Saskatoon, the St. Paul’s Healing Arts Program. This group uses art to help the healing environment at St. Paul’s Hospital – both in improving the surroundings and in working with patients to create. They also get students from schools such as Oskayak High School and City Park Collegiate to create for the patients at the hospital.
In Regina, the Prairie Artists Guild to support their work at the Wacanna Rehabilitation Centre. This group of artists has worked with patients at the centre to help them create art (often “mouse art” – computer assisted art created by the very severely disabled), donating work to beautify the Centre, and fundraising for Centre programs.
These are two great causes, and two great groups of people that we are working with.
FINE CRAFT AUCTION CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!!!
As the SCC is organizing TWO Fine Craft Auctions this year – we will need plenty of bodies to help make the FCA even more successful than last year! We are looking to fill a variety of positions at each of the FCA’s in Saskatoon (Feb 7) and Regina (Feb 21). Volunteers will receive 1 Free Ticket in exchange for their time - and the deepest appreciation of the SCC staff!
Volunteers are needed for: event set-up, ticket collection, door prizes, registration, goblet sales, assisting Auctioneer, packing sold items, post clean-up. We also need volunteers to sell event tickets in both Saskatoon and Regina. If you are interested in helping out or would like more information, contact Amanda at 653.3616 ext 0 or email saskcraftcouncil@sasktel.net.
