Nicole Cote is a painter and embroiderer from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She works primarily in watercolours and acrylics as well as free and counted embroidery. She focuses on themes of feminism and dream-like landscapes. Her work has been shown in group shows in Washington, Minnesota and Pennsylvania as well as local shows and sales. She is drawn to embroidery as a revitalized and modernized medium allowing for subversion and upturned expectations. Dream-like abstraction is also a way to manifest feelings and and experiences while focusing on the character of the materials and interactions between colours and textures.
