Wayne Dueck has worked in many areas of craft throughout his career, and has found a true passion in woodwork. Dueck utilizes quartersawn cherry and birdseye maple wood in the creation of traditional oval Shaker boxes. Based on genuine Shaker tradition, Dueck has found inspiration in the design and craftsmanship of the uniformly slender sides, symmetrical joints, and tight fitting lids of the Shaker style. Coated with a combination of beeswax and linseed oil, Dueck’s Shaker boxes can be used to store a variety of household items and personal treasures. Dueck is a former Social Worker, Bookstore Manager, and an active craftsperson in his community.
