I weave with natural fibers in a home studio creating scarves, shawls, and wraps, to wear, and domestic items for the home. Usually, I use four to eight harnesses on a Leclerc Colonial 1 floor loom. My background is in earth, water, and atmospheric sciences, and ceramic art. A post shingles syndrome forced me to totally alter my life. Weaving began as therapy and soon became a passion. Working with my hands is good for my soul, and the repetitive meditative motions in preparing the loom and in weaving are both calming and soothing. I love the interplay of color, structure, and pattern that weaving allows. I am fascinated by the beauty of weaving and am constantly amazed by the differences a small modification can make.
