On Saturday, January 24, as part of Winterruption, you’re invited to visit the Saskatchewan Craft Council Gallery on Broadway Avenue! Artist Jude Haraldson and volunteers from the Saskatoon Spinners and Weavers Guild will be leading drop-in participants through a family-friendly, hands-on yarn spinning demonstration. Colouring pages by illustrator Anna Hunter will also be available. Come warm up and learn more about creating fibre art with locally sourced materials.

SCC Gallery is a free public art gallery focused on showcasing fine craft art in all its forms. The SCC Shop + Gallery are open 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday, January 24, and we are excited to be opening a brand-new textile exhibition entitled Prairie Fibre – Full Circles that day. Come check out this collection of art by local craftspeople and learn how to make your own!

Prairie Fibre – Full Circles is a group exhibition by Saskatchewan fibre artists. The show was organized by Jude Haraldson through Prairie Fibreshed Inc., an organization that promotes circular textile processes within our province. All works in the show were made by local artists, using natural fibre materials grown and processed in Saskatchewan. The result is a truly local, sustainable, and quintessentially Saskatchewan collection of textile art.
