Catherine Parker

Catherine Parker was born and raised in Regina, SK. With the exception of a sixteen-year stint in Ottawa, she has always called Regina home. Colour, texture, and many kinds of paper have been a constant throughout her life. She has experimented with gel printing using a variety of papers and recently began making papyrus paper out of vegetables and fruits. These papyrus sheets were soon transformed into vases or pitchers. Rhubarb and turnips are her favourite vegetables, but every vegetable and fruit has been turned into a papyrus sheet in Catherine’s art studio.

Catherine has also experimented with natural dyeing and has discovered that vegetable papyrus sheets take colour equally as well as cloth fibres.

She is a member of the Regina Collage Collective.
