Dave’s Custom Pens Saskatoon is located in Saskatchewan, Canada. Dave Fossum is an artist who has been making pens and other turned ‘oddities’ since 2006. He enjoys when he can create unique pens that people love and enjoy. Customers have shared that Dave’s exquisite pens inspire them to write. Others have pursued learning how to do calligraphy after admiring and purchasing his beautiful, high quality fountain pens. Dave is known for taking pride in his work and he likes to create unique writing utensils that will last for a long time. When Dave finishes creating a pen, he reports that he does not have a favourite, because whatever he is making at the time is his new favourite.

Dave has a passion for learning and has travelled extensively across North America to seek new techniques in his craft. He works with exotic woods, acrylics, inlays, and hand cast resins. He continually experiments, and through trial and error, comes out with surprising and unique results. Some of Dave’s most sought after pens are those he has made by casting watch parts, bottle caps, wire, teeth, pencil crayons, pine cones, or other local natural items that he’s found interesting. The bodies of all pens, mechanical pencils, and other turned oddities are turned by Dave on a wood lathe in his workshop (while under constant supervision of his pup ‘Rocky’) using traditional wood turning tools and practices.
