I am a Potter and Illustrator living and working from my home studio in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. With a focus on the mystic elements of the natural world and classical myths, I endeavor to create works that blend a fantastical sensibility with down-to-earth craftsmanship and functionality. I am always looking for new inspiration in the world around me.
How would you describe what craft is?
Craft to me is the intersection of art and design philosophies, aiming to balance artistic vision with technical skill. Working in my craft, I always aim to honour traditional established techniques and conventions, while innovating where I can.
Where did you learn your craft?
Saskatoon Clayworks (under the tutelage of Cathy Mumford). Online workshops and at-home practice.
What inspires you?
The natural world, spiritual symbolism, and the unique sensory experiences that handmade items can create.
