Katerina Malagride

Katerina Malagride is a glass artist local to Regina, Saskatchewan. She began working with stained glass at the young age of 10, taking her first class at the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre. She went on to create with this medium throughout her adolescence and into high school at Friar’s Stained Glass. During university, she took a break where she explored various other mediums such as jewellery making with brass and silver, pressed botanicals, and much more. She then took a course making lampwork beads and was enthralled. She now creates art with the lampworking technique, and stained glass. Most of her art is inspired by nature, cartoons, and other quirky things she is interested in.

Katerina wants to make glass art that can resonate with everyone, and she wishes to bring it into the mainstream. She is now teaching stained glass at the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre- a full circle moment- and is teaching at other pop- up locations as well to share her love of this medium with others. Her goal is to one day open up a shop where she can sell supplies, create works of art, and teach others how to make their own creations with this fantastic medium.
