Ken Schwalm
Ken has been a dedicated woodworker for many years, and in retirement, he can now devote more time to his passion. His projects showcase his impressive skill in using a variety of woods, from local species to exotic varieties.
To create his works, Ken uses a bandsaw sawmill to carefully cut local wood into slabs, which he then dries for several years to ensure their quality. From these materials, he creates an array of beautiful items, including cutting boards, charcuterie boards, boxes, jewelry boxes, chests, small tables, and other pieces of furniture.
Ken’s talent and commitment to his craft have earned him recognition as a juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council. His work is a testament to his mastery of woodworking and his passion for creating objects of beauty and utility from natural materials.
