Myrna Harris

February 16, 1934 – August 28, 2009

The Harris family is saddened to announce the death of wife and mother, Myrna. Myrna Clay attended school at Palo, Landis and City Hospital School of Nursing. She married Oliver Harris in 1957 and four children followed. During this time she gave much of her energies to the farm, her family, the Landis Community and the church. In the 1970’s she spent more of her time on art. Painting classes, pottery, weaving and spinning, photography and felting. She won the Premier’s Prize for her felted landscape in 1995 and continued to build on this success with her fiber art. Myrna was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Robert Clay; grandson, Cary Harris; nephew, Bob Black; and son-in-law, Ken Jackson. She is survived by her husband, Oliver; daughter, Cindy Hoppe (Ernest); son, Guy (Sharon); son, Clay; daughter, Celeste Jackson; sister, Shirley Black (Frank); and brother, Bob Clay (Sharon); ten grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. A life well lived and will be missed by all. A United Church memorial service will be held on October 10, 2009 in the Landis Community Complex.
