Amaranth Designs offers modern timeless pieces that fit the needs of every lifestyle. We design garments for today’s elegant, confident, and sophisticated woman. Our collections are designed with the busy woman in mind. Our pieces transition from work to play and from day to evening.
What you will discover about Amaranth Designs is that we use only the highest quality fabrics. We pay attention to every little detail. We create those ‘must have’ pieces that fit your individual style, and we also create fashionable pieces that will last through multiple seasons.
Amaranth Designs was established in Regina in 2000. We started out as a custom fashion design and alterations company and we have now added two collections per year, namely; Spring & Summer and Fall & Winter.
This latest collection, Sugar and Spice, was inspired by the autumn leaf colour. Trees and shrubs turn from green to varying shades of red, yellow, black, orange, blue and brown. There is something about autumn that wakes up our senses and reminds us to live. Autumn paints in colour that we do not see in any other season.
It is the crisp air, the pretty leaves, sweaters, boots, football, pumpkins and warm blankets. I love fall and all its beauty.
Chartreuse was the first colour we chose. It can be both earthy and electric. It looks great with reds, oranges and blues, especially turquoise and cobalt. Chartreuse is a perfect match for charcoal grey, navy and other muted neutrals.
Our goal is always to design pieces that will be favourites in your closet to be worn for years to come. These designs are very easy to dress up or down. Amaranth Designs’ objective is to design and create garments that suit women of all ages and in every walk of life.
How would you describe what craft is?
Crafting is important as I am finding it to be somewhat of a lost art. Making something by hand from scratch is quite a feat. Being able to share my craft with others and seeing them wear my designs is quite an accomplishment.
What is your inspiration?
I am inspired by the every day woman. Knowing what she wants to wear, helps me with the design process.
How did you learn your craft?
I learned to sew from my mom and grandmother. Once I graduated high school, I continued my studies in fashion design.
