How would you describe what craft is?
Today we can find craft and art nearly everywhere, from a mural on the side of a building, a statue in your neighbours front yard to that new piece of handmade jewellery that your friend bought. There is no end to what humanity can create for the enjoyment of others.

Craft and art help to make our world a brighter place. Any time that a piece of art can make a person smile, the work has achieved it’s purpose.

I make my jewellery for my own love of creating and then for the enjoyment of my client. But my true enjoyment comes from the look on a clients face when they see the final piece. There have been as many tears as there have been smiles.

What is your inspiration?
Our family has always been into the arts of one kind or another and working with our hands. Whether it was knitting, woodworking, painting or creating delicate needlework we have all had a need to create. I love the slow method of silversmithing and creating things one at a time. There are design ideas everywhere you look, even in a simple wrapping paper that flowers come home in.
Where did you learn your craft?
I took a couple of silversmithing classes at the Neil Balkwill Centre in 2011 and fell in love with the work. This was followed by more classes. I opened my own studio in 2013 and continue to take classes as they come up and peek my interest.
