Trudi Griffin
Trudi Griffin is a quilter and fibre artist hailing from Saskatchewan, Canada. Growing up in a family of makers, she developed a passion for stitching at an early age. Her work features vibrant use of colour and simple, elemental designs, often blending traditional quilting motifs with striking, unconventional colour combinations.
Trudi’s interests extend beyond quilting. She began hand-dyeing fabric about ten years ago and produces unique textures and hues on linen and cotton, often involving snow or ice to disperse the pigments through the fibres. Using fabrics created with this process, and commercial cottons, Trudi creates home décor items like runners, bags, pillows, and wall hangings with the craftmanship learned over decades of practice and exploration.
With a background in teaching, Trudi has shared her love for quilting across the globe, including in Egypt, South Korea, and Mongolia. Her dedication to her craft and her ability to infuse traditional quilting with modern artistry have earned her a place as a juried member with the Saskatchewan Craft Council.
