I am obsessed with making. Making anything is good but designing and building a new piece of furniture is the best. Lately I have been using local woods that are not available commercially but are beautiful. I am working on a series of pieces called “From Garden to Table”. All of the wood has come from my yard or my neighbourhood. I do this partly to show off some of the fine wood we have in Saskatchewan and partly for the ecological gain that comes from using wood that would otherwise be burned or shredded into mulch. What better carbon store is there than a table that will last for a century or more.
