From an early age, Trudy learned to make items that she could use on a daily basis — to wear or to use in the home. Her appreciation for the touch and feel of natural fibres has led her to use wonderful fibres and fibre blends that are perfect for their intended use. Using relatively simple structures, the focus of her work is on colour and texture in textiles.
What is your inspiration?
Colours, textures, and shapes in nature form the basis of my inspiration along with the variation in textiles.
What do you want your customers to know about your work?
My processes are related to ‘slow fashion’–they take time to master and each item takes time to create.
What are you planning to bring to craft is... this year?
I will bring handwoven towels, table runners, scarves, and shawls, botanical print table runners, scarves, clothing, and socks.
