Ken Wilkinson

May 28, 1950 – December 14, 2025

Ken Wilkinson began working in pottery in 1974, the year before the SCC was founded. He is known as one of the province’s best throwers, creating exquisite bowls, teapots, and goblets, as well as producing larger pieces such as ceramic tables and pedestals. Ken served on the SCC’s Board of Directors from 1992 to 1996 and again from 2003 to 2009. Ken was awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership in 2015, and took part in our Wholesale Program for several years. Many visitors may not know this, but the ceramic door frame in SCC Fine Craft Shop was originally installed as part of an exhibition by Ken and fellow potter Judy Tryon in 2007. It has remained a unique part of our space ever since.
