Caron Dubnick

she/her

I live on Lac La Ronge in Northern Saskatchewan, where access to the boreal landscape is immediate and constant. My artwork arises always from the sensory pleasure I take from my environment, and my desire to re-immerse myself in things that have moved me: colors, textures and contrasts; light, weather and moods; grand vistas and easily overlooked detail.

I work primarily in three media to express the landscape and its elements: fabric collage using my own dyed textiles; batik on either paper with watercolour or on fabric with paints and dyes; and traditional watercolour on paper.
