My mother and grandmother were makers. My mother had a very high standard and it was at her knee that I was taught a number of techniques. Knitting became my favourite and when I discovered alpacas and started raising them and was enthralled by their beautiful fleece, I learned to spin, dye, weave and felt. I am always pleased and satisfied when I produce something that people admire for its beauty and when they feel comfort and joy from wearing it. Colour, handle and simplicity and practicality in design light me up.
