Wanda Knoss

Wanda Knoss finds no shortage of inspiration in the rolling hills of south central Saskatchewan where she has always lived. Her passion for the land and all it holds are evident in her photographs. With a keen eye for light, form and movement and a unique perspective, she transforms the landscapes, flora and fauna of her life into works of art. In other images, she captures the spirit of characters molded by her beloved prairies. Largely self-taught, she constantly strives to improve her craft gathering technical instruction from various sources. In return, Wanda enjoys sharing knowledge and techniques of her art with others. She finds the digital darkroom to be very liberating and believes her creative possibilities are infinite.

Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, it offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. – Ansel Adams

I live in the beautiful prairie province, Saskatchewan. I have lived in this area my entire life and love it here. It is where my family, friends and heart live. I believe photography is a very expressive art form. I love to photograph landscape, people, macro, abstract, flora and fauna and a lot of rusty goodness! I’m always looking to improve technically and expand my perspective. Saskatchewan is full of inspiration with wonderful scapes.

Many of my images are created in camera. Most of my landscapes and my rusty goodness images are done with HDR (High Dynamic Range). The editing is like a wet/dry dark room except it is digital. The digital darkroom allows me the opportunity to experiment and use Photoshop, textures and plug-ins to enhance my creative possibilities which are infinite.

I’m very excited to share my photos with you! I hope you enjoy viewing my world.
