The internet is your friend!

Written by: Vivian Orr, Communications & Publications Coordinator

Once upon a time learning meant sitting in a classroom – not any more. Now you can learn (more than you ever wanted to know, mwahahaha) using the internet from the comfort of your couch on your tablet, or sitting in your car (NOT while you are driving) on your smart phone.

The question of course, is who can you trust? One exciting resource is Lynda.com!

From their website: “Lynda.com is a leading online learning company that helps anyone learn business, software, technology and creative skills to achieve personal and professional goals. Through individual, corporate, academic and government subscriptions, members have access to the Lynda.com video library of engaging, top-quality courses taught by recognized industry experts.”

PC Magazine review by JILL DUFFY, JORDAN MINOR, September 2015

“Lynda.com is hands-down one of the best sources for online learning. For years, Lynda.com (from $25 per month) has put informative and clear video-based training in front of people who need it. The videos let you work at your own pace, and the website is designed extremely well to help you keep track of what you want to learn and what you have already learned. Additional resources, such as worksheets and templates, are often included. The site is exceptional at teaching technical skills and technique, such as software for video editing, photography, coding, and even animation. Beyond multimedia training, Lynda.com also helps people pick up business principles, money-management advice, and much more. When you need skills training fast, Lynda.com is the go-to source for high quality results and a PCMag Editors’ Choice.”
