Amber Bryans

she/her

Amber Bryans practices printmaking and painting from her home studio in Saskatoon. She mostly works in linocut printmaking, with each step of the process done by hand.

Amber’s prints are dominated by birds, as she has a growing series of Saskatchewan bird portraits, and a new body of work using birds as symbols for our own stories. In these works, the images of birds and the natural word express concepts and emotions such as memory, longing, freedom, struggle and growth. Other prints by Amber explore the landscape and our interactions with it, human impact on the land, and the impact that the land has with us.

Through her art, Amber processes her own story and experiences while creating opportunities for others to think about their own stories, the natural world and their relationship to both.
