Holly Boone has been a mixed media artist for more than twenty years but in 2014 she discovered her passion for needle felting. She taught herself the basic techniques of the needle felting process after being inspired by fibre artwork at the Alberta Craft Council (Edmonton) where she volunteered. Holly creates a variety of quirky and endearing needle felted items including animal and monster sculptures, ornaments, cards, and jewelry. Her style is imaginative and simplistic, yet each piece conveys its own colourful personality. She is constantly experimenting and thinking of ways to further develop her felting skills and to incorporate these new ideas into other unique handmade creations. After years of practice, she now showcases her needle felting work at several gallery shops throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan and has been included in a handful of exhibitions. She occasionally teaches her felting skills to others through workshops and demonstrations.
